However, in Medan City there are still many problems, such as the low participation of women in employment. Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the description of gender equality in the field of employment in Medan City and describe the efforts that can be made by the Medan City Manpower Office to achieve gender equality in the field of employment in Medan City. Methods: The methodology applied in this research is descriptive qualitative method with gender equality theory (Moser, 2020). The data analysis technique uses data analysis techniques (creswell, 2023) which are carried out by observation of the level of gender equality in the field of employment, in-depth interviews (18 informants), and documentation. Results/Findings: The results showed that gender equality in the field of employment in Medan City has not been implemented optimally, there are still jobs that require certain gender qualifications. Conclusion: Gender equality in the field of employment in Medan City has not been optimally implemented. Although the services provided do not differentiate between genders, there are still jobs that require certain gender qualifications. In order to improve gender equality in the field of employment in Medan City, efforts can be made such as providing awareness to the community such as active socialization and education to the community and business people about the importance of gender equality in the workplace.
