Situational leadership is one of the leadership models that has a close relationship between the leader and the subordinate. This is not easy considering the behavior and abilities of those who are led sometimes becomes a problem. The objective of this research is to analyze and to describe situational leadership and how important it is for public policy actors. This study uses a qualitative method. The results shows that situational leadership in the regions is very important because the gaps between those who are led and the leaders are not so far and has a mutually reinforcing relationship. Situational
leadership cannot be realized without the presence of leaders and subordinates who both have good relationship and task behavior. In the future, the presence of qualified people with strong personalities and intellectual abilities will become the priority of government administrators because they will be the policy actors as well as the proponents of situational leadership.
